Church of God Aberkenfig

Prayer Time

It is important that we meet together collectively to talk to God in prayer. We, as a church, do this during our prayer times, which are conducted between 19:30 and 20:30 on the 1st Tuesday of every month. Prayer is also undertaken after the Bible Exposition meeting. Anyone is welcome to come and witness out prayer times. If you have any issues you would like us to pray about you can bring them along, or, alternatively, email them to us and we will gladly pray about them for you.

Different Sections

The prayer time is generally split into a number of different sections, with each section dedicated to a specific subject. This allows for focussed prayer on that subject for that period of time. The meeting can be split into as many as 4 different sections, with 10 minutes per part. This depends on the number of subjects that need to be covered.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4 v 6)

Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. (Matthew 18 v 19)

Who can come?

As with every other meeting in the church, all are welcome. It should be noted that only men who are church members (men who have been baptised and added into the church) may participate audibly in the prayer meeting (as outlined in Acts 2:41-42). Woman do not speak audibly (as taught in 1 Corinthians 14:34), but they can pray silently. Visitors are welcome to join in the singing and pray silently if they wish.

Prayer Points

A prayer list containing points to pray about is usually supplied by a church member. If you have something you would like us to pray about please feel free to contact us and we can add you to our list.

Refreshments, such as teas, coffees, cold drinks, biscuits and cake are provided before and after the prayer time.
